Mr. Blue Eyes

This picture really shows his blue eyes. I just got this outfit out of the drawer and had no idea that it would fit already. I thought that it would be a month at least.

Nathan was extremely exhausted but decided that he wanted to talk with Mom for a few minutes. He hardly ever will lay in my arms cradled unless he wants to eat, but here he is. He always seems to keep me on my toes by changing how he likes to go to sleep every week. I would say, "Hi" and he would giggle. I couldn't quite get that on the video, but he does talk a little and smile. Oh, how sweet.

Precious Nathan

Nathan is 13 weeks in all of the pictures. I cannot believe how much he has grown. It has been 85 degrees lately, so it is time for short sleeves for a little while.

Do you see Matt or Vernice in Nathan? I think that the overall conclusion is that he is identical to Matt. Everyone says that he looks like Matt, and some people even call him little Matt. When I say everyone I mean EVERYONE: friends, family, people at church, co-workers, etc. . . I think that he has my nose but that may be all. A couple weeks back when we were with Matt's family Melody, his sister, said that she thinks he looks like me. FINALLY!!!

Hands and Arms

Nathan loves to look at arms and hands but especially his own. He also loves to pull the back of his hair. One day he pulled it so hard, I could see his scalp being pulled away from his head.

He is about 3 months old.

Nathan has now found his arms and hands. He loves to look at his arm, but he especially loves to look at his daddy's hands in motion. He has also started to teeth and really suck on things. He especially loves to suck on his clothes or a wash cloth in the bathtub. The other day he sucked on his thumb a couple of times when I was dancing with him to put him to sleep. It was so cute.

Look at those big blue eyes. His cheeks are so chubby now that his face looks square. He is now just over 13 pounds. WOW!!!

I was getting Nathan ready for church and had to hurry and put his hat on him even though it is not cold enough. He loves to lay on a towel while I get ready in the morning. He is a very patient baby. I didn't think there was such a thing as a patient child, but he really is.

Nathan has just had a bath and is all nice and clean. It looks like he is saying, "Hi." We practice that with him a lot. It really does seem like he is saying hi or maybe he is saying "a." Who knows what that boy is thinking.

Valentine's Day

Matt and I celebrated Valentine's Day with a meal that I made especially for Matt. I fixed pork chops, asparagus, his favorite red potatoes, fruit salad, and sparkling cider. Then we watched Saints and Soldiers and spoiled ourselves with red hots, kit kats, and sour skittles. We also surprised Matt with a card that Nathan made (maybe Mom helped a little bit) where we traced his hands and wrote I love you Daddy. Matt bought me three strawberry plants, which I am really excited to plant in our garden. Let us just say that Matt and I are very grateful for the swing. It is a lifesaver. When we put him in his swing he is out of it. We were grateful to eat our entire dinner with no interruptions. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

1st Hockey Game

Friday February 13th Nathan experienced his first hockey game and his first dart rail ride. We showed Nathan off to Matt's coworkers before dinner and the game. Everyone thought that he looked just like Matt. They commented on his blue eyes and some said that he was a pretty boy (we even had some people at the hockey game tell us that). Then we ate at El Fenix. One of us had to be standing with him the entire time, but we just switched off. Then we walked down to the American Airline Center to watch the Dallas Stars face off with Vancouver. Tony, one of Matt's co-workers, gave us free tickets to the game. We couldn't pass up a free date. Dallas won 2 to 1. Nathan is already a Stars FAN!!! He loved to watch all of the commotion. We sat on the very top row, which worked perfect because one of us stood with him most of the time.

Going for a Walk

It's hard to take a picture when he is attached to me. We used the mirror.

Nathan at 2 1/2 months in his front carrier going for a walk. He loves his walks as long as it is warm out. Don't we all!!!

Look at those beautiful blue eyes. He is not quite sure about wearing the hat.

Nathan says, "Oh, is that what I look like?" as he looks into the mirror.

Growing Like a Weed

Look at my cute PJ's and double chin. That's right, Nathan now weighs 13 pounds. He just weighed 12 pounds last week. Where is my little boy going? His body looks sooooo long compared to his little head. We had to snag a picture of Nathan in his pajamas still at noon. He loves to sleep in. He takes after his mom and his dad on that one.

Nathan says, "Oh, I just love that camera.
It makes my eyes go all buggy."

Thanks to Carolyn for letting us borrow some baby clothes. They are so adorable. I didn't
think he would fit into those 3-6 month jeans yet. I absolutely love this picture. It looks like a professional posed picture.

Nathan loves his mobile above his crib. He is talking to it right now. His favorite is the blue elephant and the green turtle. They have more contrasting colors than the monkey and the giraffe.

I just couldn't resist putting another picture up.

Daddy time: Enjoying a Sunday nap together
Can you tell that we absolutely adore our little boy!!!
